can only be bought in combination with germination racks.
After that, the production of pre-germination bags will continue and you can also buy pre-germination bags separately.
Even if you bought the Joppe pre-germination bags and germination racks 2nd hand.

What is the difference between Sprinter2 and Sprinter3 germ racks?

The top beams of Sprinter3 are 40 cm. longer than in Sprinter2.
This allows more space for the catch hook to pick up the sprouting rack.

Which Sprinter germination rack is most suitable for me?

For most farms, Sprinter 2 is good.
Sprinter2 rack distribution is good and does not take up extra space in the barn.
Sprinter3 germ rack is suitable for large companies with several forklifts.
the advantages are that there is less chance of damage to bags by the catch hook and
the speed of operation is greater because there is more space for the catch hook.

Can cut seed potatoes be pre-germinated?

* Yes, provided it is done properly. That means:
– healthy seed potatoes, no rot.
– Temperature at cutting 12-14°C
– Permanent disinfection of cutting knife and talcum powder on cutting surface.
– Cut and fill pre-germination bags in one pass.
– Put the germination racks with cut poters in a shed at 8-15ºC for 2 weeks.
Here the cut poters do not dry out and rot. There is no condensation in pre-germination bags.
– After two weeks, the filled germination racks can go outside to harden off the upcoming sprouting.
The corked cutting surface is now as resistant to rain as the skin of the poter.

What is the best place in my yard to harden off the poters in pre-germination bags?

* Let the wind work for you.
Practice has shown that hardening off is done 75% by wind and 25% by light.
The wind is also there at night and comes to the shade side of the tuber.
The wind removes condensation and CO2, thus preventing too rapid growth.
The aim is to get a short hard germ max 5 mm long.
Therefore, place the germination racks in the following way:
1. In the most windy part of your yard. As far away from the buildings as possible.
2. Place the seed racks 2-high, on a hard flat surface.
3. Place the stacks min. 1 m apart.
4. If possible, place the stacks in a north-south direction.
In warm humid weather, with little wind, the wind usually comes from the south.
5. Make sure the seedpotatoes do not freeze.
6. If the seedpotatoes stand at 1-3 °C for more than 3 days, cold damage may occur.
7. In late spring, the windrow may grow dense.
If possible, put the germination racks outside the windbreak.

Does presprouting help against Erwinia?

* Yes, in several ways.
1. Pre-germination gives the seed potatoes the optimum physiological age.
The poter is not too young because of too cold storage.
The poter is not too old and worn out due to good drainage of condensation and CO2 through the wide-mesh bags.
2. The mother tuber is gone earlier. As a result, there is less contamination during harvesting.
3. Furthermore, due to pre-germination, the seed potatoes are loose sooner.
A latent infection is visible earlier and can be selected out early.

Does pre-germination help against viral diseases?

* Yes, in two ways.
1. A pre-germinated crop is more likely to have older leaves than a non-pre-germinated crop.
This is age resistance.
2. A pre-germinated crop has a good yield on haulm destruction dates.

How does pre-germination affect the number of tubers?

* a. For some crop objectives such as prime crop, low tal is positive to achieve size 40/- as soon as possible with sufficient owg.
A young, barren poter should be well hardened off to retain the top shoot.

* b. Cultivation of table and seed potatoes requires uniform yield with as much tal as possible. Number of tubers=cash.
This can be achieved by growing the top sprout on the potters first.
Then break these off by turning the box, using carvone or ethylene.
This will loosen the other sprouts.
Then these weak sprouts can be hardened off in the pre-germination bags into rock-hard sprouts that do not break down.

Can the pre-germination bags remain on the empty germination racks?

* Yes, the support rods always stay in the pre-germination bags.
After unloading the pre-germination bags, always tape the Velcro tightly first.
Then slide the rods with pre-germination bags outside the legs.
Half to the left and half to the right.
The legs fold inwards, where there is no room for the pre-germination bags.

This can be done with Sprinter2 and Sprinter3 germination racks.
This action saves you a lot of time and space.

What material are the pre-germination bags made of?

The canvas is made of polypropylene with UV reinforcement.
There is a Velcro fastener at the bottom.

What is the guarantee on the pre-germination bags and germination racks?

The guarantee on the pre-germination bags is 3 years.
The guarantee on the sprouting racks and accessories is 1 year

What is the normal lifespan of the pre-germination bags?

In practice, if the pre-germination bags are filled after 1 Dec, a lifespan of 15-20 years is quite feasible.
Store the pre-germination bags in a dark place outside the pre-germination season.
The rain flap protects the top of the pre-germination bag. this extends the life span.
Pre-germination bags have been on the market for over 30 years.

What is the lifespan of the germination racks?

With normal use, the germination racks can live for more than 40 years.
